How to enter Thailand visa-free for 30 days, complete the TDAC arrival card, and pass spot checks at airport immigration.
Under Thailand's official visa-exemption policy for Indian passport holders, tourist travelers can enter Thailand completely visa-free for stays of up to 30 days.
This scheme eliminates the need for prior eVisa filing or standing in long Visa-on-Arrival (VOA) payment queues at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi or Don Mueang airports, allowing you to proceed directly to immigration entry lanes.
While entry is visa-free, Thai immigration officers strictly enforce border entry compliance. You MUST carry: (1) Passport valid for at least 6 months, (2) Confirmed return or onward flight ticket within 30 days, (3) Verifiable hotel booking vouchers, and (4) Proof of adequate funds.
Thai immigration conducts random cash spot-checks at airport arrival gates. Individual travelers are required to carry a minimum of 10,000 THB (or equivalent in USD/INR), and families must carry 20,000 THB in physical cash. Failing to show physical cash if randomly selected can result in denied entry.
If you wish to extend your holiday beyond 30 days, you can apply for a one-time 30-day extension at any local Thai Immigration Office (located in Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, Chiang Mai, etc.) for a government fee of 1,900 THB.
